More than half of all Americans are suffering from pain, either from a recent episode or from chronic pain. However, many do not even know that physical therapists are well equipped to not only treat pain but also its source. Physical and occupational therapists are experts at treating musculoskeletal and neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. Pain often accompanies a movement disorder, and physical and occupational therapists can help correct the disorder and relieve the pain.

Outpatient physical/ occupational therapy (where patients do not have to stay to receive services) is provided in many settings. It could belong to a hospital, physician or group of physicians (orthopedic groups) or therapist owned independent practices. Who is better? We leave it up to you to draw your own conclusions but here are some facts. The studies indicate there were more treatments (visits per patient were 39% to 45% higher in physician owned clinics) and the cost was greater for those patients that attended a physician owned physical therapy practice (both gross and net revenue per patient were 30% to 40% higher.
Therapists who own their own clinic they are not only highly skilled, they have so much confidence in themselves that they venture out on their own. Therapist owned clinics are very passionate about their profession and patients.
At Synergy Therapeutic Group we are here because of the quality of services we provide and the positive results we get. We have no financial ties to any of our referring sources. Our referring sources strongly believe in what we do for their patients! |

For many patients, one of the primary objectives is pain relief. This is accomplished by using many different tools. Movement often provides pain relief as well. Your therapist will provide you with the appropriate exercises not only for pain relief but to recover range of motion, strength and endurance. In no circumstance should physical therapy techniques be painful. Sometimes patients may be sore the next day. For example, recovering knee range of motion after total knee replacement or shoulder range of motion after shoulder surgery may be painful. Your physical therapist will utilize a variety of techniques to help maximize your treatment goals. It is important that you communicate the intensity, frequency and duration of pain to your therapist. Without this information, it is difficult for the therapist to adjust your treatment plan. |

Once you’re initial evaluation is complete, your therapist will discuss your goals for therapy and the regimen necessary to achieve these goals. Your therapist will then develop a treatment plan that will include the number of weeks you may need to come to therapy, as well as the number of visits per week. As therapy progresses, you will be given a Home Exercise Program (a number of exercises to do at home in addition to those done at the clinic). For you to achieve and maintain maximum recovery in an optimal time, you must follow the prescribed Home Exercise Program. |

We require 24 hours notice of appointment cancellation. If an appointment is cancelled after the 24 hour mark, there will a $25 fee assessed at the patients expense. We have this rule because each appointment slot has value. But we don’t charge you the value of the slot, only the $25. It doesn’t make us money, we still lose. But, it is a deterrent which helps to minimize last minute changes. Advance notice allows us time to give it to someone who really needs it. |
|
It’s important to come to your appointment on time! If you are more than 15 minutes late your appointment may be rescheduled. Allowing patients to come late for appointments can compromise the care of others. We provide the best care to everyone!
