Inclusion Criteria: |
A patient who is suffering from shoulder pain including adhesive Capsulitis (non-surgical). Post surgical, we follow surgeon’s protocol. |
Goal/Result |
Week 1: |
Patient should report no more pain at rest, sleeps at night after 1st visit, decreased tenderness by 50%, restore full scapular and thoracic spine mobility, and increase active pain free shoulder range of motion by 20-30%. |
Week 2: |
Patient is free from pain with full functional/biomechanical alignment restored. |
Week 3: |
Patient is independent with stretching/strengthening program without exacerbation of symptoms. |
Week 4: |
Patient is independent with home exercise program without exacerbation of symptoms. |
Week 5: |
Muscle strength is within normal limits with no symptoms and discharged from physical/occupational therapy. |
Additional weeks of therapy may be necessary in certain co-existing conditions especially in case of females. Obesity, diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, early menopause/hysterectomy, thoracic kyphosis with diagnosis of osteoporosis/osteopenia, back pain/SI joint pain same side (with or without scoliosis/leg length discrepancy) and smoking.
